Meet the Author

Hi, I'm Staci Baker—teacher, mom, and author of The Charm Series.

I currently live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina with my family, but my roots are in sunny San Diego, California. Growing up in Southern California sparked my lifelong love of the San Diego Padres and inspired the seaside setting that readers find throughout Lilly's adventures. While the town of Seaside is fictional, many of the places, experiences, and memories woven into the stories are inspired by real life.

Teacher by Day. Author by Night

By day, I teach middle school science, and by night (and often during gymnastics practice, carpool lines, and stolen moments in between), I write stories for young readers.

My debut book, Lilly Charm: Journalist, was inspired by real-life experiences and my love of helping children discover the magic hidden in everyday moments. Through Lilly's adventures, I hope to encourage curiosity, kindness, confidence, and a love of storytelling.

As a mom of two daughters, I know how special reading time can be. That's why each book in The Charm Series includes puzzles, journal prompts, and opportunities for meaningful conversations between children and the grown-ups who love them.

When I'm not teaching or writing, you'll often find me cheering for the San Diego Padres, traveling with my family, reading a good book, or dreaming up Lilly's next adventure.
